Green Element Podcast: Samantha Cooper from Business Declares

Business Declares member Green Element are an environmental management consultancy with a wealth of experience. Their founder Will Richardson hosts weekly podcasts talking to businesses hoping to inspire and promote sustainability in business. On 30th May 2021, it was the turn of our very own director Samantha Cooper (episode on Captivate, here)

• She has an academic background in chemistry.

• She left BP in 2015 to find a more meaningful path than the oil industry.

• Business Declares came out in April 2019 after the IPCC report was published. In those early days, they were focusing on raising awareness for business to act. Now, climate is at the heart of every conversation they are having with business leaders.

• She believes further collaboration is needed and advocacy is especially key for larger organisations.

The conversation included talk about some of the uncomfortable truths associated with being more environmentally conscious.
